Salsa Verde from Kaisa

Description / Method: 
  1. To peel the tomatoes more easily boil a large pan of water and put the tomatoes in the water until the peel loosens.  This should only take a minute or so.  Then pour off the water, peel all the tomatoes and blend them either in a blender of cut up very small with a knife.
  2. Chop the onions, peppers into small cube and put into a pot with the tomatoes and lime juice.  Add the chilli, basil, salt and pepper and bring to the boil.  Cook until the bell peppers become soft.
  3. Pour the mixture into clean glass jars with screw tops.  When cool keep in the refrigerator. 
Ingredients: 

40 small green tomatoes

15 green capsicum (also known as bell peppers)

7 onions

3 limes

1 teaspoon of chilli powder

Basil, salt, black pepper to taste
